Late winter update

As would be expected, it's rather quiet at this time of the year.  There are signs of spring, though.  The weather has been somewhat typical of what I've noticed "recently" where we get a warm winter every four or five years.  We have some buds showing up on trees and some bulbs are coming up.

Around the property, we have been busy working as weather and energy (The Bear continues to not sleep) allows.
* As of this weekend, the bulk of the front bed has been emptied.  Only the tall pine tree still stands.
* We have been chipping away at cleaning up neglected landscape beds.
* We rented a "brush hog" a few weekends ago.  I tackled the back woods-lines all around the property to thin out the underbrush and deter copperheads from getting too close to the house.
* Many of the seeds I started are up. A few haven't come up, but most are up.  I removed the greenhouse dome from the tomatoes this morning.
* I don't know that we will ever plant anything edible around the pool, but we will be re-landscaping there.  I removed four overgrown juniper bushes and/or small pine trees this weekend.  I also cut down a juniper bush, but still need to dig out the stump.
